Western Buckeye Training is a company created in 2016 by Ohio Level II Firefighter and Paramedic Jordan Hempker. Originally from the Lima area, Jordan began his career at the age of 16 with the Cridersville Volunteer Fire Company. He then attended Hocking College, where he received professional certifications in the Fire and EMS services respectively. While studying at Hocking, Jordan worked part-time at Hocking Township Fire Department and after graduation became a part-time member of Trotwood Fire and Rescue (Dayton,Ohio area). The experience he gained in working at such diverse departments and areas of the Ohio Fire Service led him to his first full time position at Shawnee Township Fire Department.

Working full-time Jordan focused on training and networking outside the area of Lima. He attended several out of state conferences such as Orlando Fire Conference, Williams Foam School, etc. He has come to value and appreciate networking with like minded individuals of the fire service.

Jordan is currently a full time Firefighter and Paramedic at Harrison Township Fire Dept in Ashville, Ohio. He holds a Hazmat Tech, Ohio Fire Instructor, and numerous EMS certifications. Jordan uses these certifications to improve not only his own skills and ability as a Firefighter/Paramedic, but to help other members of the Fire Service expand their knowledge and skill sets in order to give the citizens of the community highly trained first responders. The community and the citizens come first; customer service is a key element in the success of fire departments.

Jordan created Western Buckeye Training as a means to offer quality, up-to-date training for members of the Fire Service locally and abroad. He has enlisted the help of several team members for the company, from welders to instructors, etc. He understands that departments are limited in regards to accessibility of training and hopes to offer cost efficient courses that will help members grow professionally and not "break the bank".
